The Future Starts Here
The right choice for your test takers. The HiSET® exam.
Although high school dropout rates have been declining for more than 40 years, 8,300 students still drop out of U.S. high schools every day. Cumulatively, about 39 million adults don’t have a high school credential. Now they have another way to a new future.
In 2014, ETS broke new ground in adult education with the HiSET® exam — an affordable, accessible high school equivalency test option. Designed to support the Workforce Innovations and Opportunity Act of 2013, the HiSET exam is an option for out-of-school youth and adults without a high school diploma to demonstrate their skills and knowledge and earn a state-issued high school equivalency credential.
Developed in collaboration with states and adult educators directors and federally recognized by the US Department of Education, the HiSET exam is designed to meet both your needs and the needs of your test takers.
Affordability is only one reason the HiSET exam is important. See what else makes the HiSET exam the best option for your high school equivalency credentialing program.
The HiSET exam aligns to the College and Career Readiness Standards for Adult Education and certifies a candidate has attained the academic knowledge and skill equivalent to those of a high school graduate. Learn more about test development and test content.
